Are you "in the zone"?


According to a world-renowned psychologist, Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, happiness, or the secret of living a fulfilled life is a conscious decision. As a survivor of WWII, he was interested in what makes a life worth living. He ended up in Switzerland where he met influential psychologist Carl Jung and moved to the USA to complete a degree in psychology. His groundbreaking studies defined how to live in the flow, concentrating on an activity for pure internal reward and connectivity to our true selves. Colloquially, in the flow is known as “in the zone”. How can we be in the flow/zone of happiness and abundance when living in times of considerable uncertainty and stress? Basically, the principle for optimal ecstasy and bliss is a balanced amount of skill and challenge. If the problem is too insurmountable, it will create anxiety - if the skill level is too easy, it will result in boredom. Let’s take a moment now to assess our challenge and skill.
