Our bodies, minds and souls are all connected to make up a whole human being. There are numerous research studies that provide proof that prolonged and negative stress can damage your brain cells, lead to eating disorders and heart disease.
In this month’s journaling challenge we as you to write down one way in which you will respect your body this month. Perhaps it’s drinking less, eating less unhealthy meals or doing more exercise. Before we get into these “new years resolution type” commitments, let’s think about the word respect. If we just simply do these things, what is the reason behind doing it? What exactly are we trying to accomplish?
Let’s start with a visualization. Sit in a comfortable position and close your eyes. Take a deep breath in through your nose, out through your mouth. Become aware of your jaw, physically relax the muscles. Drop your tongue to the bottom of your mouth. One more deep breath in through your nose, out through your mouth. Slowly open your eyes. Well done, you’ve just completed a guided journaling prompt by doing something great for your body and releasing stress.
Journaling and life transformation doesn’t happen overnight and nor should it. In order to really integrate a new lifestyle we need to commit awareness and intention moved into action over a period of time.
Back to our journaling prompt for this month, one way in which I will respect my body, maybe staying off Tinder this month and finding out exactly who I am and who I want to share my body with.
Keep breathing, keep journaling and keep growing!
