Opinions of ourselves
Welcome back to our journaling challenges! We are past the halfway mark for the year. Well done to everyone who’s been journaling and welcome to the newcomers. We are excited to have you on this empowerment journey with us.
Following our theme of values versus beliefs, how many opinions or beliefs do we have about yourselves that prevent us from living our lives to the fullest. For our journaling challenge, let’s explore our opinions about ourselves, our beliefs. Last month we focused on our values and what we value in others.
Before you write, ask yourself which word you need to hear today, which opinion about yourself is keeping you small. Take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your mouth. Close your eyes and in your mind, see the word. What does it look like? What are the circumstances surrounding this word? Take notice of everything that surrounds this word, emotions or any other relevant information.
Open your eyes. Journal down your experience. Write down all the details in this short visualization. Scribble down your word.
Reflect back on your values. How do these values conflict with your word?
Journal down an action plan on how to align your values and your opinion word. Use this simple yet effective strategy anytime you feel stuck, misaligned or out of sorts.
Keep journaling and keep growing.
